Now that you have become more comfortable with working with the recorder, we are going to introduce some musical concepts to you our lessons along with the new songs you will be working with. Please review this video and be sure you know the information that is presented in it.

6, 7, and 8 grade: Remember that I asked you to view the video at least one more time as a homework assignment before you come to class for our second session this week.

This video reviews things we have talked about with rhythm all first quarter and how to read quarter notes and eighth notes. It also reviews the start of note reading we did at the beginning of the second quarter.

The video concludes with how to put these skills together into reading music and playing Three Blind Mice on the Recorder. It shows how to read the song while you hear it and then, it is performed so you can see the fingers and hear it.

Students will be learning the song letters of the alphabet in order to star in a video that we will make for the Pre-K, K, and first grade classrooms.

Upper grade students will perform the song and show the movements of tall, small and fall so that the younger students can follow and learn that some letters stand tall and others have tails that point down along with the order of the alphabet.

The Internet is a big computer data base and sometimes it can be rather hard to locate things because its so big.

George Boole came up with a way to search for things so that you would not have to look through thousands and thousands of hits before you found what you want.
